Physicists Coalition D.C. Engagement Days 2025

The Physicists Coalition for Nuclear Threat Reduction is inviting physical scientists and engineers to our second Washington, D.C. Engagement Days to engage with policymakers and
practitioners and encourage efforts to reduce nuclear weapons threats.
The D.C. Engagement Days 2025 Event will kick off with a required training on Monday, May 19, followed by two days of team meetings scheduled by the Coalition with congressional offices and executive branch officials.

The policy priorities for the Physicists Coalition's D.C. Engagement Days 2025 will align with the Coalition's Advocacy Strategy. Additional information will be shared with confirmed registrants.
Day 1: Monday, May 19 2025
- Required Team Building, Policy Training, and lunch provided by the Coalition at a venue on Capitol Hill (11 AM-5 PM)
- Evening reception (tentative/optional)
Day 2: Tuesday, May 20, 2025
- Group meetings with congressional and executive branch
offices scheduled by the Coalition (9AM-5PM) - Refreshments at a Capitol Hill headquarters in between meetings.

Day 3: Wednesday, May 21, 2025
- Group meetings with congressional and executive branch
offices scheduled by the Coalition (9AM-5PM) - Refreshments at a Capitol Hill headquarters in between meetings.

Who Can Register
Registration is open to physical scientists and engineers at any stage in their careers. All registrants should be in alignment with the mission of the Physicists Coalition for Nuclear Threat Reduction. We especially welcome those with a strong interest or background in advocacy for nuclear threat reduction.
To be eligible, you might meet the following criteria:
- Be a physical scientist (early-career scientists and graduate students are also welcome)
- Be a member of the Physicists Coalition for Nuclear Threat Reduction
- Reside in the United States
Costs of Attendance
Attending the event, including the training day, scheduled team meetings, and side events is free of charge. However registration is required, and space is limited.
A limited number of travel stipends are available for those traveling from outside of the Washington, D.C. area. Please register as soon as possible. If your attendance depends on receiving a stipend, please indicate this on the registration form, and we will be in touch with you with further information. Early registrants and members of the Physicists Coalition for Nuclear Threat Reduction with a track record of attending Coalition events and taking action on our policy issues will be prioritized to receive a stipend and we will reach out to you with more information.
About the Physicists Coalition for Nuclear Threat Reduction
Founded in 2019, the Coalition works within the physical science community to raise awareness about the threat of nuclear weapons and what can be done about it. Our experts have held educational colloquia at over 140 institutions across the United States and held over a dozen webinars or training sessions. We also provide information and tools to enable our network of over 1100 scientists to get involved with nuclear threat reduction policies through digital and local advocacy meetings.
